How does the Catholic Church react to legal challenges of its employment politics? How does the rising importance of human rights affect the organization of religious majorities and minorities? How does religiosity unfold in 'total' institutions such as the prison? Examining law as both a constraint and a resource for religious organizational development and the life of religion in public and private institutions, the seminar seeks to explore the various entanglements of law and religion in different organizational contexts in contemporary Europe.
