Description |
"Empire Writing", the title of Elleke Boehmer's excellent collection adopted for this seminar, suggests the important part of writing in general and 'literature' in particular in the construction of the British Empire. The seminar will explore the manifold cultural implications of this relationship between writing and empire, looking at texts from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
