Anthropology Cine Scene Club
To students, cine lovers, and filmmakers of Münster,
the Anthropology Cine Scene Club of the Institute of Ethnology of the WWU welcomes students, filmmakers, and film enthusiasts to engage in a joint film screening. Together, club members meet regularly (at present online) to enjoy films and discuss them according to aspects of the fields of Social Anthropology, Visual Anthropology, Media Anthropology, and Popular Culture Studies s.a. cultures of film production and consumption, recent discussions in film research or popular culture trends. The broad range of genres screened encompasses works produced by students and filmmakers from Münster, classic and/or controversial ethnographic films, popular films from around the globe, documentary films, experimental/art films, music videos of the global South, and East, and many more. Each screening is accompanied by a short introduction and Q&A moderated by the filmmakers or experts of the field.
