Kurzkommentar |
The goal of this seminar is to introduce students to the cognitive and acquisitional aspects of bi-/multilingualism, and to develop their awareness and understanding of possible approaches to language learning and teaching in a classroom that consists of both monolingual and multilingual pupils. Whilst drawing on examples from multilingualism in Europe, the seminar will focus on case studies of learning and teaching English in German primary and secondary school settings and encourage students to reflect on issues emerging from their own experience or a familiar context through the lens of bi-/multilingual perspectives. Working in collaboration, students will also have an opportunity to design and critically evaluate a brief classroom activity that draws on/ uses language repertoires of learners in a specific context. |
