Continuum theory is a study of compact connected (metric) spaces. In the seminar we will focus on constructions and properties of compact connected one-dimensional metric spaces such as the pseudo-arc, dendrites or the Menger curve. Later in the semester we will discuss selected topics about actions by homeomorphisms on those continua. |
